Brazilian streamer Alexandre ‘Gaules’ Borba has been hit with a surprise Twitch ban midway through one of his NBA co-streams on November 4.
Gaules has become one of the biggest names on Twitch in recent years, boasting just over three million followers on the Amazon-owned platform. Those millions of fans can no longer watch the 37-year-old for the time being, however, after he was hit with a shock Twitch ban today.
The streamer’s Twitch channel, @gaules, is no longer accessible.
The reason behind Borba’s Nov. 4 suspension has not been announced. The popular Brazilian star was co-streaming NBA games when the ban hit. This suspension is the first time the star has been banned on Twitch.
Gaules has already responded to his surprise suspension on Twitter, though it wasn’t a statement; the Twitch star simply posted a classic Brazilian meme.

Gaules has taken Twitch by storm in 2021, building a huge audience to become one of the biggest streamers on the Amazon-owned platform.
In October, the Brazilian was the most-watched star on Twitch, dethroning Felix ‘xQc’s Lengyel with 18.1m hours watched compared to the French-Canadian’s 18m. Gaules mainly co-streams CSGO matches, and signed a rich deal with the NBA in May to do the same for basketball games.
The 37-year-old currently has more than 60,000 active subscribers.
The CSGO personality was caught up in controversy this year after he leveled cheating accusations at 16-year-old pro Leaf. He has since apologized.
Gaules has been co-streaming CSGO’s PGL Major Stockholm over the past week, mainly focusing on contenders like FURIA and paiN Gaming.
